Getting the truenas iso

• Running an externally accesible pfsense network in nested virtualization on truenas scale requires bridge at both levels
  • create a bridge on ubuntu host and attach a physical port (eg br1)
  • create libvirt network using the bridge ```xml
  br1

  - add the network to scale vm
  ```xml

  • create bridge in truenas scale (requires console access!*)

     cli -c "network interface create name=br1 type=BRIDGE bridge_members=enp2s0"
    

  • commit changes

    cli -c "network interface commit"
    

  • persist changes

    cli -c "network interface checkin"
    

  • reboot (truenas scale) system!

Adding TrueCharts

When opening the Apps menu item on TrueNAS SCALE for the first time, you get prompted to setup a new pool for Apps. This will create a new dataset on the selected pool called “ix-applications”, which will contain all docker containers and most application data, unless specified otherwise.

Go to “Apps” in the left hand menu

Select the “Manage Catalogs” tab

Click “Add Catalog” and enter the required information:

Name: truecharts
